I was bit surprized by the error message having reference to 10.4 sdk but all the frameworks belong to to absolute path "/System/Library/Frameworks/***.framework"
(by clicking get Info button on individual frameworks)
So find the source file giving the error, Preprocess, and check where and why it includes that header file.
And System frameworks should have Path Type = Relative to current SDK.

For a while before this, I was getting e-mail notices from posts that I had already read...then they would come again. Bizarre. I had gotten used to it, like one gets used to an annoying neighbor. (hopefully not one that commits murder)
Now that THAT's cleared up, it's time to reach in my pocket and renew my Demi-God status...you DO know that's why I was holding out, right?;)

i have a similar issue, but i thought it was the Quadro 4000's fan. i might be wrong, it could be the Mac Pro fans. but anyhow, yes, i hear the fans all day long. not sure what causes this. i do know that the Quadro 4000 runs very hot.

Since the video came in at Apple Pro Res 720p30, it would only make sense to export a quicktime .MOV at those settings if you want the closest resolution however it depends what you're doing with it. If it's going to web you will have to sacrifice size and quality so that it can stream. What's your ultimate goal for where the video will end up?

The question to ask yourself is if you prefer speed or size. What I mean by this is that the WD Scorpio Black comes in 750GB and spins at 7200 RPM. This drive, which I recently purchased, is only two platters of similar but higher density. So you can expect the WD SB 750Gb drive to perform roughly 30% faster for applications loading, boot times... Of course if you plan on putting 700-800GB of data on your laptop the 1TB drive is the way to go. If you plan on 500-600Gb then you will likely be much happier with the faster drive. I bought mine on Amazon for $109 shipped and as you may know, Amazon has a great 30 day return policy.

This isn't a database solution, but it is searchable.
Open a Terminal window.
Navigate to the root folder of the drive.
Type "ls -R >> filelist.txt" without the quotes.
This will create a text file called filelist.txt which lists all files and their paths.

I need a news site to publish the articles that I find myself from inside sources at Apple and an ADC Premier account.. so I chose to start Macoverage.

Fast User Switching hangs my server when it is running headless (which is all of the time). For some reason it needs a monitor connected for it to work. :(
What I view as unfortunate is that I have to keep it logged in in order for some services to keep working properly (scheduled backups with SuperDuper, DynamicDNS, I suspect Plex, and iTunes if I were to use it's server). So it isn't possible to use the server as a general user login on another account.
Of course some people will point out that a server shouldn't be used for user logins anyway for security and stability reasons.
You can always have multiple shell logins, using the ssh command.
What I view as unfortunate is that I have to keep it logged in in order for some services to keep working properly (scheduled backups with SuperDuper, DynamicDNS, I suspect Plex, and iTunes if I were to use it's server).
